Little things make a big difference.  Here are 4 little changes you can make throughout your day to improve your memory, score better on tests, and remember where you put your darn keys!

1.   BRUSH YOUR TEETH WITH THE OTHER HAND

Brushing your teeth with the wrong hand increases connections across the brain, improves gross motor functions and stimulates brain growth. Do this the morning of an exam and you will be alert and ready for the test!

2.   QUESTION NAMES

The #1 reason people forget names is because they are not paying attention.Try this exercise to increase your memory for names: Every time you see someone (whether you know their name or not) say to yourself “I wonder what their name is?”By the end of the day your brain will become so curious for names, you will actually raise your recall!

3.   KEEP LOOKING UP

Blanking on a Quiz? Where you point your eyes makes a huge difference!  Often, when people are stressed they look down…but try looking up instead!  There are bundles of nerves behind your eyes that help connect you to the part of the brain that stores memory. Looking up helps trigger these nerves. So just remember…the next time you get stuck…Keep looking up!

4.   IMAGINE THE EXTREME

When you imagine something outrageous, your mind is more likely to remember.  The next time you set your keys down, imagine that someone put a fire cracker on them and they explode.  It sounds silly, but it works!
